14 days at casa sul tramonto + after a week back in london i am still thoroughly relaxed and down shifted. i cannot seem to gear up to 'the back to work' mode of many londoners.
This is a great thing!
My memories include sitting on the terrace in the early morning sun eating breakfast of local fruits, oats + yoghurt, taking in the views of the surrounding patchwork countryside, smattered with peaks of tiny, unique hilltop towns, built in traditional stone, designed to wind round and round until you reach the centre at the top of the sphere.
Driving around the region, the trip from ancona airport simple, the coast very close, ambling through villages and visiting the port towns of porto san giorgio + san benedetto; these beaches + beachside promenades like miami but greener, more lush, more elegant ~ italian style, great people watching, it all seemed so easy and accessible.

maybe it's because this is a region where italians holiday and it's not overpopulated + infiltrated by other cultures, that made it feel so comfortable and effortless.
There isn't any pretense, it is a region where people, live life, work, holiday and explore.
We loved fermo, the nearest large town, beautiful in the main piazza at night and especially on a thursday evening when the town comes to life with the market selling anything from honey + truffle pickles to leather handbags + antiques. there is a wonderful deli here selling meats, cheese, pasta and fruit + veg and a fantastic + charming restaurant on an elevated terrace overlooking the main piazza del popolo, we had no idea what they were serving us for the 5 courses but happily let them serve the fixed menu, delicious cheeses and a risotto that's complex flavors exploded in the mouth.
We loved the tiny little seaside town of marina palmense, simple, local people + families, cycling to the pebble beach with umbrellas and picnics, there are a couple of basic bars and restaurants to observe the italians going about their business.
Opposite the beach is a turn off the ss16 to torre di palma, a charming, picture perfect medieval hilltop town, our favorite; the bar is great to sit for an aperitif and chat to locals and passers by, the most elegant and divine of restaurants is the family run ~ lu focaro, also a b+b, the food was exquisite, home made focaccia bread, pasta + ravioli that held a thousand flavors; released on the palate, swallowed down the gullet and still making my mouth water!
The owners have created a beautiful home and many days we spent lounging about in the heat, staring at the un-obscured view, nibbling on local produce, hanging in the hammock and dipping in the pool whilst drinking local red wine, reading + dancing in the sun ~ perfect.
Maggie + david are relaxed and invisible, unless you need them, then they are close by, warm + hospitable.

Urlaub zum Erholen
Sonja H.

WE HOPE TO BE BACK SOME DAY!!

Fabulous Break
Del, Market Harborough, UK
We would like to say what a lovely week we spent at Casa Sul Tramonto. The fabulous views are unforgettable, so peacefull and relaxing.
The proprietors Maggie and David were very accommadating, nothing to much trouble for them. Accommadation is of a very high standard, very clean and comfortable. Plenty to see and do without driving to far. A visit to the mountains or lunch by the sea, some days we just had a bar b q and relaxed by the pool.

All to be reccomended, we most certainly will go back.

A Perfect Place to Stay
Ad, Holland
We enjoyed our holiday at Casa sul Tramonto. A beautiful house with beautiful views. All was very clean. Everything we needed was available. This and the good care of Maggie and David makes we recommend this as a perfect place to stay.

Fabulous Le Marche family holidayGranny Carole, England
Our party consisted of 2 grandparents, 5 younger adults and 2 children under 8 years old, staying for a week in August '10.
We were greeted by the friendly owners, who had provided a 'starter pack' of groceries, and who showed us around the property. They live in a nearby house, and although available if needed, they left us alone to feel it was our own 'home from home'.
Everything was spotless and the house was well-equipped with all we needed. It was very helpful, when travelling light, to not have to worry about beach towels, hairdiers, soap etc. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms had plenty of storage. The ensuite bathrooms were sparkling-clean and roomy.

The views from the house and terraces are spectacular, as were the sunsets, and the house is in a very peaceful location.
We visited Frassasi Caves, local villages, and two of us made the longer (overnight) trip to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Mount Vesuvius.
The rest of the time, we played in the pool (the two littlest learning to swim for the first time!), read, painted, listened to the CDs provided and generally relaxed. Taking it in turn to cook in the well equipped kitchen and barbeque area, with twin cookers, dishwasher and plentiful equipment was not difficult - but we did try out a couple of local reastaurants from the list provided by the owners, and a superb icecream parlour, which even did takeaways for us!
My only reservation about recommending it to friends would be that they might book it for the same time I would like to go next year!
